I’m Chris Crump, licensed stylist, beauty entrepreneur, artist, interior design lover, music enthusiast, and now, the proud founder of Slate Strands.

For over two decades, I’ve worked behind the chair, supporting women of all backgrounds, textures, and stages of life. Beauty has always been my canvas, a space where I’ve blended creativity, culture, and care. But as I transitioned into wearing my own grey hair proudly, I noticed a deep void in the industry: there simply weren’t enough products or conversations designed for textured grey hair and certainly not enough rooted in representation and confidence.

This industry is fast-moving, competitive, and at times, unkind. But I’m stepping into this space because I believe there’s room and a need for a brand that champions quality, authenticity, and community. Not just beauty rooted in youth but beauty for all seasons of life.
